Rixos Hotels chief Berberoglu in Dubai for Arabian Travel Market

Rixos Hotel has confirmed it will take part in the Arabian Travel Market, which opens in Dubai today.

Rixos chief executive Bugra Berberoglu said general managers of the group’s international hotels would be attending the event to meet existing and potential partners from tour agencies to discuss further cooperation to attract more tourists to the group’s hotels in the UAE and further afield.

He added that he was expecting to sign new cooperation agreements during the event, which he described as an important opportunity to highlight the group’s ambitious plans, including expansions projects in the UAE following steady growth in its business.

He confirmed that he would soon be announcing more details about the new five-star hotel set to open in Dubai’s JBR Walk in 2016, also revealing that there are plans to open a hotel in Abu Dhabi and that the project would be announced soon.

Berberolgu also disclosed plans to inaugurate a new resort in the Maldives next year, describing it as one of the most attractive hotels in that area.

He said Rixos has become one of the fastest-growing hotel groups in the region and is pushing ahead with expansion plans in the UAE, in other Gulf States and worldwide.

He said the company’s target is to boost the group’s hotel and resort portfolio from 27 to 60 in 20 locations worldwide by 2020.

“We have drawn an ambitious worldwide expansion plan in which the UAE which will play a crucial role,” he said.

“We have plans to pump more investments in the UAE by 2020 to boost our presence in this important part of the world and seize business opportunities made available by the steady growth in the tourism sector,” he added
