Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve – First Reserve in the Americas
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. is set to launch the first Reserve property in the Americas with Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico. The resort will be the second in the exclusive portfolio worldwide, joining Phulay Bay in Krabi, Southern Thailand. More than 50 years ago, Laurance S. The exquisite Ritz-Carlton Reserve, a 115-key oceanfront hotel is set to open in December 2012 and will feature 1,400 acres of natural beauty and luxury with all guestrooms and suites sitting directly on the beach, a five-acre, ’botanical’ spa; a new Beach Club; and a Wind and Waves center featuring Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment, a celebrated program that will provide innovative, hands-on eco-adventures for adults, teens and children using Dorado Beach as a natural classroom.
Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve will also partner with acclaimed Chef José Andrés, where the internationally renowned culinary innovator will debut his first restaurant outside the continental United States.

The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun recently unveiled its latest addition to the ocean front retreat – a private Three Bedroom Suite overlooking directly on the ocean. The Three Bedroom hideaway is perfectly suited for couples seeking an intimate romantic getaway or for families looking for more spacious and convenient accommodations with easy access to the beach while offering an extended terrace, infinity edge pool, chaise lounges and stunning ocean views. The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan completed a multimillion dollar renovation and enhancement project to its 416 guestrooms and suites. The award-winning oceanfront property’s vibrant new look embraces the tropical ambiance and rich heritage of Puerto Rico through a display of lively colors, sophisticated furnishings and contemporary paintings, all to enhance the comfort and lifestyle experience for today’s discerning traveler.
Maintaining references to the resort’s island elegance, bold new designs showcase a color palette of canary yellow contrasted by deep aqua blue details, and watery teal punctuated by chartreuse detailing, reminiscent of Puerto Rico’s azure waters and warm tropical surroundings. In every guest room, existing furniture pieces and soft goods have been refurbished with a rich chocolate brown finish and satin nickel decorative hardware. Each room features a fully upholstered bed in a light textured fabric, featuring a plush button-less tufted headboard with crisp embroidered bedding.
