Multiple award winning Chinese actress, Yao Chen has become Tourism New Zealand’s new brand ambassador in mainland China.
The Chinese film and television star has been in New Zealand this past week to commence her brand ambassador role via a “100% New Zealand Tour: Yao Chen - Revive Your Emotion” campaign, which follows Yao Chen as she experiences New Zealand’s tourism activities and scenery.  Videos, blogs and images of her trip are being posted on a dedicated website that is central to the campaign.
Tourism New Zealand General Manager Asia Markets Mark Frood said. “Yao Chen’s fresh and natural personality perfectly matches the 100% pure image that New Zealand has been building in China.
“We believe that Yao Chen’s influence will help raise Chinese tourists’ interest in our country and encourage them to experience New Zealand first-hand.”
Yao Chen said she was delighted to act as Tourism New Zealand’s brand ambassador in China.
“I have been very interested in this country (New Zealand) and its 100% pure experiences impress me a lot,” said Yao Chen.
“I am honored to be Tourism New Zealand’s new brand ambassador.”
Yao Chen has starred in more than two dozen films and television shows.  She has received recognition for her performances through ‘Most Popular Actress’ and ‘People’s Choice’ awards and is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) spokeswoman in China.
