Ras Al Khaimah sees visitor numbers surge

The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has announced a 12.4 per cent increase in total revenue this year, driven by an increase in total visitors to reach 740,383 in 2015.

The news further expands Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a premier tourism destination for a genuine Arabian experience.

The increase in visitor numbers, up by 24.7 per cent in the UK and 80 per cent in India, accompanies Ras Al Khaimah TDA’s freshly unveiled rebranding campaign, aimed at driving economic growth, and enhances the Emirate’s rich offerings for travellers around the world.

Ras Al Khaimah’s unprecedented growth surge in tourism, service and real estate sectors is a successful testament to the Emirate’s ambitious plans and intensified efforts to diversify from traditional industries while broadening its development plans for retail, dining, entertainment and MICE facilities.

Accordingly, Ras Al Khaimah has gained recognition as a top investment hotspot in the UAE, accommodating in its Free Trade Zone more than 8,000 businesses from 100 different countries.

Along with their growth and success, Ras Al Khaimah TDA recently launched a dynamic LINK rebranding campaign across the UK, which includes a new emblem, supported advertising in travel trade and consumer media and a creative strategy to raise awareness about Ras Al Khaimah’s new identity and destination positioning.

Aiming to attract one million tourists to the Emirate by 2018, the Ras Al Khaimah TDA also plans to diversify its world-class hotel and resort portfolio, increase routes to and from the destination via Europe, restore historical sites and enhance digital platforms with the introduction of new apps and services.
