Qatar Tourism Authority partners with Qatar Airways to launch food festival

Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has partnered with Qatar Airways to launch the fourth edition of their annual food festival in Doha. Renamed Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) the four-day event will take place at the Museum of Islamic Art Park from 28 to 31 March.

This year, QIFF will carry two main themes; healthy food and a healthy lifestyle, as well as focusing on the Qatari UK Year of Culture by highlighting traditional dishes from both the UK and Qatar. 

Families can enjoy sampling food and different cuisines from around the world as prepared by a wide variety of Qatar’s finest five star hotels and restaurants. 

HE Eng Issa Al-Mohannadi, Chairman of QTA, commented: “We at, QTA are honoured with the partnership with Qatar Airways, as we consider QA as a key partner in promoting Qatar as an upscale tourism destination. This year the Festival showcases excellent quality food from some of the world’s best hotel and restaurant brands that have established outlets in Qatar, confirming its growing reputation as an international gourmet capital, that appeals to tourists from anywhere in the world.”

The Healthy Food Zone will be dedicated entirely to healthy food.  Dishes will include raw foods, salads, vegetables, fruits, steamed cooked seafood and meats accompanied by fresh juices and teas – all of which support the key message of the food festival – eat healthy food, adopt a healthy lifestyle and stay fit.

This year’s festival has a number of exciting initiatives which will delight adults and kids alike – all of which will be revealed in the next two weeks leading up to the event. The Museum of Islamic Art Park itself with its beautiful setting on Doha’s waterfront is a stunning backdrop for this year’s event with its many new activities and amazing zones that will keep visitors entertained – and well fed – for hours on end. 

Entry to the event is free. Vouchers for food and drink at the festival will be sold on site at the event. 

Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 16 years of operations, currently flying a modern fleet of 122 aircraft to 125 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and The Americas.

Over the next few weeks and months, QA will launch scheduled flights to a diverse portfolio of new routes, including Chicago, USA (April 10); Salalah, Oman (May 22); Chengdu, China, at a date to be confirmed, and many more start-ups to be announced.
