Qatar Airways lands at MasterChef Live to revel in award-winning food

Qatar Airways is proud to be the only airline sponsor of the annual MasterChef Live and The Wine Show in Olympia, London, as the carrier promotes its award-winning onboard food and wine.

Taking place from November 11th-13th, the three-day event will bring together over 100 of the best local producers selling top quality food and drink, as well as some of the biggest names in the industry.

The star-studded line-up includes reigning champion Tim Anderson and Michelin-star chefs Michael Caines and Tom Kitchin, while leading MasterChef talent, Dhruy Baker and James Perry will cook dishes inspired by Qatar Airways’ latest destination – Chongqing in China.

In celebration of Qatar Airways’ new route, launching on November 28th, dishes will be specially created with a Szechuan twist on the MasterChef demonstration stage.

Qatar Airways already operates daily non-stop flights from Doha to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and four-flights-a-week to Beijing, with Chongqing being the airline’s fifth gateway to the People’s Republic of China.

The airline offers an excellent choice of flights from the UK to Qatar with four non-stop services daily from London Heathrow and twice-daily from Manchester.

Qatar Airways will have an exhibition stand at Olympia, where visitors can learn more about the airline’s rapidly expanding route network, and have the chance to win two return economy tickets with Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways country manager UK & Ireland, Richard Oliver, commented: “This is the perfect opportunity for Qatar Airways to highlight its award-winning onboard food and wine and allow people who haven’t flown with Qatar Airways the chance to discover the airline’s five star service.

“The past two years have seen the airline pick up many prestigious accolades for its outstanding in-flight product and operational excellence.”

Qatar Airways’ in-flight a la carte dining experience features dishes created from only the finest and freshest ingredients.

The carrier is also one of the few airlines to serve two meals during a six-hour flight.

Passengers flying with Qatar Airways can enjoy the selection of handpicked fine wines, expertly chosen by some of the world’s best-known sommeliers.

Smooth vintages, fruity reds, crisp whites and refreshing champagnes can be found onboard every Qatar Airways flight.

Added Oliver: “The MasterChef event will also allow Qatar Airways to emphasise the rapidly expanding destination portfolio, which now includes over 100 destinations worldwide.

“This year alone has seen Qatar Airways launch 14 new destinations, including our latest to Entebbe in Uganda last week, with Chongqing in China launching at the end of November, and new services starting to Azerbaijan and Georgia in February 2012.”

Qatar Airways is recognised as offering the Middle East’s Leading Airline Business Class by the prestigious World Travel Awards.
