epiQure, the new Wine and Food community of Qantas Frequent Flyer, has secured a major coup today announcing that one of the world’s most revered chefs will be jetting in to Australia to be at its upcoming launch event in Sydney.
Rene Redzepi is the chef and co-owner of the restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Qantas Frequent Flyer Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Hickey, said “We are honoured to have a chef the calibre of Rene Redzepi as a special guest at the inaugural epiQure event in Sydney and are excited for him to share his food knowledge, expertise and experience with our epiQure members.”
“This is truly an exceptional opportunity to spend time with a chef who is considered amongst both the industry and his global peers, to be the best of the best and at the top of his game.”
Rene Redzepi is widely recognised as one of the world’s most influential and highly regarded chefs with Noma attracting 25,000 booking requests a day from diners keen to sample his world famous Nordic dishes. He is inspiring the people of Denmark to get back to their culinary roots by focussing on innovative ways to reinvent traditional Danish dishes.
His restaurant is renowned for bringing a modern and edgy twist to traditional Nordic cuisine. His dishes are plated up with the help of the natural environment in which the food comes from, using creative props such as pebbles to remind diners of the natural origins of their menu selection.
Rene will be taking part in Qantas’ first epiQure event at Neil Perry’s Rockpool Bar and Grill in Sydney on 19 July where Neil Perry will present an eight course menu featuring the best of Australian produce.
epiQure is a Frequent Flyer member-only online community available to all 7.9 million members to discover the Qantas cellar’s diverse collection of wine and be part of a community in which guests can mingle with globally renowned chefs and share a passion for food and wine.
The inaugural epiQure event will be the first in a number of events scheduled for this year which will bring renowned chefs, sommeliers and producers to the table to share their expertise and knowledge.
