Marriott International is introducing its Marriott Rewards loyalty program across key Protea Hotels located in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. 

Effective this week, members of Marriott Rewards will be able to earn and redeem points at 26 of Protea Hotels’ properties in South Africa.  Under the programme, members will be able to enjoy full Elite benefits at participating Protea Hotels, Protea Hotels Fire & Ice! And African Pride Hotels in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban starting 23rd February 2015.

Protea Hotels has over 100 African properties ranging from chic urban hotels to luxurious safari lodges in countries that include South Africa, Malawi, Namibia, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia. Following the introduction of Marriott Rewards to an initial 26 properties, the programme is set to roll out to all remaining Protea properties in late 2015, making it one of the largest hotel loyalty programmes on the continent.

As part of the launch and in addition to earning points, members who book their travel to any of the 26 participating hotels will receive a 10% discount on the best available rate.
