Portsmouth poised for success

Portsmouth Visitor Information Service has been short listed for a prestigious 2010 Enjoy England award for Excellence.

The Visitor Information Service is nominated for a gold or silver award in the Tourist Information Centre category. This award acknowledges the important part played by tourist information.

Councillor Mike Hancock CBE MP, Portsmouth City Council said: “Being short listed for this award demonstrates the quality of our visitor information service. We look forward to the presentation ceremony and to the continued success of our city as a visitor destination.”

The Enjoy England Awards for Excellence are the highest accolade in English tourism. They celebrate the very best quality and innovation, help to raise standards across the industry and secure England’s place as a world-class holiday destination.

The results will be announced on St George’s Day, 23 April 2010 at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery and Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.
