Patagonia holidays made easier by launch of free travel advice service, Swoop

One of the world’s most fascinating regions, Patagonia in South America has it all - vast expanses of open plains, towering peaks, dazzling blue lakes and enormous glaciers. But how do you fit it all in to one trip? This remote destination hasn’t always been the easiest to explore but with the launch of Swoop, that’s all set to change.

A dynamic new travel website for Patagonia, Swoop showcases over 100 different adventure holidays to the region, ranging from one-day excursions to three-week expeditions, and suitable for a variety of budgets and fitness levels. Trips are available from the Lake District in the north, to Los Glaciares and Torres del Paine National Parks, down to Tierra del Fuego and the Patagonian Ice Cap itself.

www.swooptravel.co.uk is aimed at those looking for ideas of what to do, where to go and which operator to use in Patagonia. Focussing solely on this specialist area, Swoop provides a free, comprehensive catalogue of vetted local operators and trips in the region as well as in-depth knowledge of Patagonias adventure travel opportunities so travellers can make the most of their time away.

Having been wowed by Patagonia on his first visit there 10 years ago, Luke Errington, founder of Swoop, is looking forward to sharing his passion for and knowledge of the region with first-time visitors and experienced Patagonia travellers alike through the site.

Patagonia is an incredible destination for a whole range of different adventure travel activities, and yet so few Brits get to experience it.  Those who do often end up following the same old well-trodden paths rather than finding exactly the right adventure for them,” explains Luke. “Swoop is here to give people ideas about what Patagonia can offer, and connect them to the right companies. Sometimes that might be a UK or global travel company, but often it’s a small local operator or guide who, whilst he may not be very good at marketing himself to UK customers, is very good at taking them on an adventure.

“At Swoop, we talk to lots of holiday makers who have visited Patagonia before and share their experiences so that clients can choose based on the experience of others, not just on the marketing materials of a tour company. And we have enough operator partners and cover enough trips that we can always be impartial and recommend the trips we believe best meet a client’s needs.”

The peak season for travelling to Patagonia is October to March and Luke is confident that Swoop covers the bases for every type of traveller. “The people looking to travel to Patagonia will be a mix of active retirees, people taking a break from their career, or holiday makers wanting to really make the most of a two to three week holiday,” said Luke. “They are all looking for an adventure, but still want to feel reassured and informed by the expertise, logistics and insight of a local guide. At Swoop, we can provide exactly that.”
