Almost 200 passengers were stranded onboard an Air India flight at Gatwick Airport for more than eight hours after fog caused their flight to be diverted.

The flight, which was on its way from Mumbai to Heathrow Airport, had been forced to land at Gatwick Airport due to poor weather conditions where it remained on the runway, before resuming its journey at 17:00 BST.

Passengers on the flight complained they received no food, refreshments or information from the crew.

According to reports, the passengers became irritable and angry, resulting in Sussex Police being called to the flight.
