The appointment of Cristina Alcantara supports Pacific World’s drive to strengthen their sales efforts in strategic MICE markets, and to expand their current Events Management and PCO centres across the globe.
Brazil is a sophisticated market with a strong interest in the MICE industry, making it an attractive source market for Pacific World to invest their resources. Pacific World currently operates in more than 15 countries including Spain, Portugal, Greece, Scotland, China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia.
With over six years of strategic experience in the MICE industry, Ms. Cristina Alcantara will be focussing on promoting Pacific World´s expertise to Brazilian MICE market customers. Previously, as the official “face” of the Trade & Events Department of Turespaña in São Paulo, one of her main responsibilities was to develop strategic partners, promoting Spain as destination for tourism and MICE business.
In order to ensure operational excellence and best-in-class customer service, Pacific World actively seeks to recruit talented professionals who have a deep understanding of the industry and specific destinations. Ms. Alcantara is Brazilian and a professional translator with an advanced degree in English and doctorate in Spanish translation from the Salamanca University, Spain.

Today Brazil has several associations focusing on meetings and incentive activities and there has also been an increase in MICE industry events held in the country such as LAMEC (Latin American Meetings and Events Conference).
