Ovolo launches flagship hotel in West Kowloon

Ovolo Group has confirmed the opening of its flagship hotel, Ovolo 256 Tung Chau Street in West Kowloon.

This latest property not only marks Hong Kong’s largest independent serviced apartment operators entry into hotels, it is also the Group’s first property in Kowloon.

The all-inclusive all-suite business hotel, featuring 63 two- and three-bedroom luxury
Suites, has all the meticulous hallmarks of the Ovolo lifestyle.

“256 Tung Chau Street represents a modern, clean business hotel with all the services and luxuries the modern traveler requires,” said Ovolo managing director Girish Jhunjhnuwala.

“It sits well with our other properties, with strong similarities in design and space.”

The all-suite hotel offers spacious accommodation.

The two-bedroom, 500-sq ft apartments and three-bedroom, 700-sq ft apartments all have large living rooms complete with bright and airy windows, panoramic harbour or city views as well as sleek and modern styling for the best in city living.

“We maximized ceiling heights and wherever possible we’ve perforated the walls to allow in more light and connection with the outside, with larger windows, lowered window sills and no balustrading,” says Paul Kember, director of architect and design company KplusK Associates.

Ovolo

Ovolo already has 245 apartments in six properties on Hong Kong Island, but this new venture marks a strategic expansion across Victoria Harbour into Kowloon by offering Suite Living for the Other Side.

West Kowloon is an emerging metropolis in the midst of a dramatic transformation that will establish it as a major travel gateway for Hong Kong as well as the city’s premier cultural hub.

It is the site of the terminus for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, due to open in 2015, which will slash cross-boundary travel times and feed into China’s High-Speed Rail Network.
