Oman Ministry of Tourism launches it’s first cinematic campaign

Friday 23 July 2010 sees the launch of the first Oman cinema campaign across the country. The twenty second clip exhibits everything Oman has to offer; an enormous wealth of natural attractions, fascinating culture, stunning landscapes and welcoming people.

The campaign spans a six week period from 23 July to 02 September 2010 in London, the South East, Lancashire and Central Scotland. The advertisement will be shown across 161 screens in ODEON and Cineworld cinemas; the two largest cinema companies in the UK.

Cinema offers the perfect environment for this type of campaign; total attention and engagement, plus the perfect behavioural and demographic match. For example, research shows that Cinemagoers take an average of three holidays per year, with 11 million taking five or more last year! Furthermore, Cinemagoers fly to a wider range of destinations, with 3.1 million travelling outside of the EU.

This advertisement is guaranteed to be seen by over one million people and forms a large part of the “Now is the Time” Oman marketing campaign; originally launched by the Sultanate of Oman Ministry of Tourism, Oman Air and Muscat’s leading hotels. Their aim is to encourage first time visitors by promoting Oman as a “year-round destination” and to prove that it offers highly competitive six and seven day holiday packages which include return air fares and accommodation. Packages are common-rated across Europe. The Packages include return air fares, four and five start twin share accommodation and breakfasts for travel from 12 April to 1 October 2010.
