Oman Air aircraft involved in runway collision

Oman Air flight WY 432, due to depart earlier from Tehran to Muscat, has been delayed as a result of an incident on the runway.

The wings of the stationary Oman Air aircraft were clipped by another airliner as it passed.

No-one was hurt and no-one was at risk.

However, the aircraft must now be carefully inspected by Oman Air’s engineering team before it is declared fit to fly.

Passengers have been informed and arrangements are currently being made to either provide accommodation in Tehran or to find an alternative flight.

In a statement the airline said: “We apologise for the delay and resulting inconvenience, but our over-riding priority is the safety of all our passengers and crew.

“We are grateful for the patience and understanding shown by the affected passengers and we look forward to seeing them continue their journeys at the earliest opportunity.”
