Newly converted Holiday Inn Hotel opens in Denver, Colorado

SHM, a division of the nation’s largest independent management company, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, today announced the opening of the Holiday Inn Denver East-Stapleton.  Formerly the Radisson Stapleton, the 300-room atrium hotel underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2008.  SHM assumed management of the property in October 2009 and presided over the conversion to a Holiday Inn.  The hotel is owned by Stapleton Hotel Partners, LLC, a Holualoa Company, and Tucson, Ariz.-based real estate investor and developer.

“This hotel is in excellent condition with a great location and as a Holiday Inn, offers a number of competitive advantages that will enhance the guest experience,” said Reggie Casselberry, general manager.  “The Holiday Inn name is synonymous with hospitality and one of the most recognized and celebrated brands in the industry.  Today’s version of this iconic brand maintains many of its most popular traditions, like kids stay and eat free, which families traveling today will really appreciate.  Some of the brand’s newer advantages include the hallmark Holiday Inn bedding package and access to Priority Club, one of the industry’s top loyalty programs.”

Casselberry noted that the hotel’s location appeals equally to both business and leisure travelers.  “Leisure travelers will appreciate our proximity to many of the area’s most popular attractions, including the Denver Zoo, Denver Botanical Gardens, Museum of Nature & Science and the Elitch Gardens.  We’re also minutes away from premium shopping at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton, the storied Cherry Creek Shopping Center and the 16th Street Mall.  Business travelers will appreciate our proximity to downtown Denver, the Denver International Airport and the many surrounding businesses, including United Training Center, Nestle, SAIC and Northrop Grumman.  And with more than 20,000 square feet of upgraded, state-of-the-art, special event and corporate meeting space, we’re the ideal Denver meeting and convention hotel.”

“Rebranding and repositioning a hotel requires a very specific skill set,” said Aroon Chinai, Holualoa chief investment officer.  “SHM has a proven track record in this area and has demonstrated its prowess in all kinds of economic climates.  We look forward to building on our relationship with them.”

Located at 3333 Quebec Street in the Stapleton area east of Denver, the 11-story, contemporary style hotel offers 300 newly appointed guest rooms featuring the luxurious Holiday Inn bedding package; complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access; a full-service restaurant and lounge, Quebec’s Bistro & Martini’s Lounge; Complimentary transportation to/from the Denver airport; outdoor heated pool and indoor hot tub; fitness center; 24-hour business center; 26 meeting rooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting space, ideal for stand-alone meetings and social events for up to 400 people.
