New marketing leadership for Cathay Pacific in UK

Cathay Pacific Airways has announced the appointment of Adrian Bastow as head of sales and marketing for the UK and Ireland.

Based at the airline’s UK head office in London, Bastow will be responsible for all online and offline sales and marketing activities in both the UK and Ireland.

Bastow has nearly 20 years’ sales and marketing experience, serving a great range of customers in all major continents.

He most recently worked as EMEIA marketing director at Travelport where he worked for five years.

Prior to that, Bastow held a number of senior roles at companies including Intermec and Acer.

During this time, he has acquired a rounded international perspective, building and leading international teams for major organisations.

He brings a highly relevant industry background and a broad international experience to Cathay Pacific as the airline looks to strengthen its position in the coming years.

Talking about his appointment, Bastow commented: “Cathay Pacific is known for delivering exceptional customer experience, and despite challenging market conditions over the last few years, I have long admired the airline for not compromising when it comes to delivering the best service possible and truly listening to its customers to ensure that its products evolve to meet their needs.

“I am particularly excited to be joining the Cathay Pacific team as we prepare to add a second route between the UK and Hong Kong later this year with the addition of Manchester.

“I am also looking forward to making my own personal contribution to ensure the airline grows its customer base further here in the UK and Ireland.”

Cathay Pacific flies from London Heathrow to Hong Kong five times daily, and as of December 8th 2014 will fly from Manchester to Hong Kong four times per week.
