Rotana Hotels & Resorts has announced two new appointments at their global sales office in the UK.
Roy Simes will take over as the new area director of sales, while Brenden Carlton has been appointed as key account manager for the MICE sector.
Both will be overseeing the commercial development of key source markets for the hospitality group across the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.
As Rotana continues to expand – the hotel management group is scheduled to open an additional 15 properties in 2016 - the senior management additions to the UK team will help drive Rotana’s commercial development throughout Europe, playing a key role in developing the sales strategy into new territories and supporting the brand’s global expansion plans.
As area director of sales, Simes will be heading the regional sales team based in London to grow revenues in the leisure and business travel sectors.
A South African native, Simes has over 16 years experience honed in the international hospitality industry having served as director of sales at prestigious hotel groups, including: Hilton Worldwide, Corus Hotels and Laura Ashley Hotels.
At Rotana, Simes will be generating lucrative sales targets aligned with Rotana’s business objectives and maximise business relations to drive occupancy.
Carlton will be overseeing and driving activity across the MICE segment.
Prior to his appointment with Rotana, Carlton excelled as sales manager at SHL Hotels where he was responsible for driving targeted sales activity, generating a profit of over £100,000 a month on acquiring new business.
With almost a decade of experience under his belt, Carlton will focus on implementing a key account base and growing revenues in the MICE segment for Rotana.
