New hotel search engine LagiSatu launches this month

A brand new search engine just for travellers launches this month with a promise to overhaul long haul for good.

LagiSatu.com is a comprehensive meta search engine for hotels which is designed to help business and leisure travellers to find the best hotel deals available online with just a single click. It compares prices on more than 250,000 hotels in over 180 countries around the world, with more hotels and destinations being added daily. Partners include some of the biggest names in global travel: LateRooms.com, Agoda, eBookers, Expedia, Hotelclub and many more.

LagiSatu.com was developed by a Malaysian – Austrian team, headed by Faeez Fadhlillah and Juergen Gallistl. Speaking at the launch of the search engine, Faeez Fadhlillah said, “LagiSatu.com removes the hassle of sifting through endless hotel websites and trying to find the best rooms for the lowest prices, offering travellers across the globe a way in which to streamline their results and find their perfect destination for less. We envisage our new search engine as a saving grace for those who are searching for the cheapest hotel deals. It completely removes the hassle of comparing multiple websites manually and provides inbound and outbound travellers with the best hotel rates at a single click.”

Headquarted in Malaysia, LagiSatu is the first meta engine focused on travel to be based in the South East Asian nation. Its launch comes at a thriving time for the country, where online travel is predicted to explode in the next 12 months.

The engine works by querying the databases of selected hotel providers and then compiling a list of available hotels for respective places and dates. It offers the user the option to determine how their results should appear for the ultimate in convenience. Sorting by price allows those on a budget to establish the truly cheapest rates, sorting by distance ensures that those making onward travel arrangements will be close to transport links, and sorting by user ratings will guarantee the hotels ranked the highest will be displayed first, offering ultimate flexibility for all those searching for accommodation. There is even a unique option to include hotels approved by HalalStars, allowing Muslim travellers to evaluate the religious amenities which each hotel provides.

LagiSatu users planning a trip can also check out their destination before they check in using the engine’s suggested reading. It provides details such as how much of a saving is being made, the distance from the hotel to the nearest city centre, and a list of local amenities and attractions. References and user ratings imported from TripAdvisor and HolidayCheck.

LagiSatu.com is currently available in Malay, English, Indonesian and Chinese, and available languages will soon include Thai and Filipino, signalling the start of a whole new chapter for South East Asia’s travel industry. The success and expansion within this sector has been unprecedented in recent years, with growth of the online travel market expected to be around 40% in Malaysia alone. The innovative new hotel search hopes to tap into the growing market with its flexible and pioneering site.
