New head of UK trade sales for Hurtigruten

Hurtigruten has announced that national key account manager, Mark Walter, has been promoted to the role of head of sales for the UK trade.

With 33 years’ experience in the UK cruise and travel industry, Walter joined Hurtigruten in 2016 as a regional sales manager.

During his time with the adventure travel brand he has consistently outperformed sales targets and assisted the wider sales team to drive awareness of Hurtigruten in the UK and Ireland.

Walter will have full responsibility for driving and leading the UK sales team, building on the success of previous years and will report directly into the UK general manager.

Last year Hurtigruten announced the restructuring of its UK and EMEA senior team with the promotion of Anthony Daniels to general manager UK & Ireland and Heiko Jensen to vice president, sales, Europe.

Daniels said: “Mark’s entrepreneurial flare and dedication to the job has played a crucial role in delivering results.

“We are confident that Mark will continue to deliver and drive the sales team to new levels for Hurtigruten especially in the lead up to the launch of our first hybrid ship, the MS Roald Amundsen in a few months.”

The new role will take immediate effect.
