The Yeatman, a luxury wine hotel in Oporto, is delighted to announce the appointment of Migeul Velez as General Manager.
Miguel Velez brings with him an impressive repertoire of achievements, highlighted by his dedication to customer service and passion for the wine and tourism industries. His experience at some of Oporto’s leading hotels and tourist facilities, including Hospitality General Manager at Sonae Tourism, complete with five hotels in Porto, Troia and the Algarve and Marketing Director at Sogrape, one of the leading Portuguese wine producers, demonstrates his depth of understanding of the desires and needs of the luxury consumer.
On his new position, Velez comments, ‘The Yeatman represents the best a luxury hotel has to offer – understated elegance, effortless style, flawless service and the ability to provide a completely unique product. Previous to his appointment, Velez was instrumental in his role at Mercer consulting, as the Oporto Office Leader and as Marketing. Communication & Events Director of the Vila Sol Spa & Golf Resort and Atlântica Holding, demonstrating his ability to successfully manage people, to their full potential. Prior to this, Velez held the position of General Manager at Porto Palácio Congress Hotel and Spa (a member of The Leading Hotels of the World) where under his dynamic leadership, the hotel enjoyed a lengthy period of success.
