New fitness and wellness programme at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta

Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta has launched a new series of Fitness and Wellness daily activities to encourage guests towards achieving peak physical, mental and emotional performance.

The extended list of workout exercises which are available throughout the year include relaxing Morning Yoga Salutations by the pool, Taebo, Aqua Yoga; and for those seeking a more vigorous work out, a range of Plyometric, Aerobic and Core Ball training programmes are also available.  In-house guests can enjoy these new programmes on a complimentary basis, while local visitors to the hotel are welcome to join the experience for USD 20 (nett) per class dependent on availability.

Guests will be guided by caring professionals in the hotel’s well-equipped Fitness Centre or alternatively, private classes can be reserved

The new Fitness and Wellness schedule includes:
Morning Yoga Sun Salutations (60 minutes)
The Sun God is worshipped as a symbol of health and immortal life, and this invigorating series promises greater flexibility for the spine and joints as well as a trimmer waist.

Plyometric (60 minutes)
Extensive training compiling cardio, muscle and core strength exercises for advanced participants.  Benefits include fast calorie and fat burning.

Aqua Yoga (60 minutes)
Water supports and minimizes joint pressure.  Water exercise classes are therefore especially beneficial for people with arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis, back problems and pregnant women.

Core Ball (60 minutes)
Core-strength training (pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen) to improve balance and stability.
Breathing Exercise (30 minutes)
Breathing techniques to improve the flow of oxygen to both body and mind and encourage relaxation.

Stretching (30 minutes)
Stretching improves the muscle’s elasticity and reaffirms muscle tone.  Benefits includes a feeling of increased muscle control, flexibility and a wider range of motion.  Stretching is also beneficial in the alleviation of cramps.

Taebo (60 minutes)
Taebo is an aerobic and cardio workout focusing on the soul, mind and body.  Benefits are both physical and mental, and it is an effective tool for toning and defining the body’s musculature.

In addition, the hotel’s advanced Fitness Centre has a range of cardio and strength equipment as well as a selection of free weights.  There is also Kinesis Studio equipped to improve core strength and flexibility, with personal training available by appointment.
