FRHI Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Aiden McAuley as senior vice president operations, Europe.

The group is the parent company of luxury and upper upscale hotel brands Raffles Hotels & Resorts, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts.

In this new role, McAuley has relocated from Singapore to Zurich and is now responsible for overseeing all existing hotel operations and future developments across all three brands within the European Region.

During the past eight years McAuley had the position of managing director Swissôtel The Stamford & Fairmont Singapore and regional vice president, Asia-Pacific for Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts overseeing all Swissôtel properties in Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Australia and India.

In this role he had the opportunity to venture into new markets and oversaw the opening of the first Swissôtel property in India, Swissôtel Kolkata.

McAuley brings with him over 25 years of hospitality experience and first joined Swissôtel in 1999 as the general manager of Swissôtel The Howard, London before moving to Singapore.

Prior to joining Swissôtel, Aiden held positions at other international brands including Hilton.
