New appointments at the top announced for five Alila properties

Alila Hotels and Resorts, who manage city hotels and resorts throughout South East Asia and India, have announced a series of appointments at key properties across the group. Five new General Mangers have been named alongside three Director of Sales positions.

Vijai Singh has come on board at the historic Alila Bishangarth Village as pre-opening General Manager. The property, due to open Q2 2014, waspreviously a fortress lovingly restored and transformed into a luxury resort. Singh has held a number of management roles in luxury hotels and resorts including Taj Hotels, One and Only Resorts, The Westin and The Rania Experience. Before joining Alila, Singh was Resort Manager at LUX* Maldives.

Jork Bosselaar has been appointed as pre-opening General Manager at Alila Jabal Akhdar, Oman. Already an established member of the Alila family, Bosselaar first joined Alila Hotels and Resorts in 2006 as General Manager of Alila Manggis before moving to Alila Ubud in 2008. With a fantastic track record, Bosselaar is the perfect choice to introduce the Alila brand into the Middle East when the resort opens in early 2014. 

Andrew Tan has joined Alila as General Manager at Alila Jakarta. Having worked in Indonesia for eight years, Tan has considerable hospitality experience in Indonesia and has also lived, worked and studied in Malaysia, USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Miami, San Francisco and Taiwan.

Marco Groten will move to Alila Villas Uluwatu as General Manager in August. Groten first joined Alila in February 2009 as the opening General Manager for Alila Villas Soori.  During his time at Soori, Groten successfully established the property as one of Bali’s premier resorts. In his new role he will continue to build on the strong foundations the current team have put in place at Alila Villas Uluwatu.

Noel Cameron will be joining Alila as General Manager of Alila Ubud. Cameron, an Australian native, is an experienced hotelier with strong boutique resort experience. He’s held General Manager roles in luxury boutique resorts in various locations, including North Island (Seychelles), Huvafen Fushi (Maldives) and Singita Grumeti Reserve (Tanzania) to name just a few.

Further to the developing management team, three new Directors of Sales have been appointed to support the continued demand for Alila Hotels and Resorts. Demeiter Vaubell, is part of the pre opening team at Alila Jabal Akhdar, Taufik Rachman will oversee the sales in Indonesia and Ankur Rastogi will manage sales in India.
