Former Mount Gay Distilleries brand manager Marc McCollin has been appointed as the new senior business development officer in the UK office of the Barbados Tourism Marketing.
McCollin’s appointment came into effect earlier, starting with a two week orientation in Barbados before taking up his official post in the UK.
Prior to his appointment, McCollin was employed at Mount Gay Distilleries where he held the positions of brand manager, trade marketing manager and international brand manager.
He held several responsibilities including the growth strategy for the Mount Gay Visitors Centre.
Barbados Tourism Marketing UK director Cheryl Carter said: “We look forward to welcoming Marc to the BTMI team in the UK.
“We are sure that his branding expertise and project management skills will significantly strengthen and enhance, not only Barbados’ positioning across the UK, but also our ability to provide greater support to our partners.
“We look forward to working with him to continue to grow visitor arrivals from this important market.”
McCollin is also a former executive director at Intimate Hotels of Barbados where he created marketing opportunities for 47 member properties through various media.
