National Express: £100,000 facelift for Upminster station

National Express train operator c2c has started a £100,000 project to update Upminster station.

The work, which is completely funded by c2c, includes the repainting of platform equipment and benches, waiting rooms and the ticket hall area of the station. Work began this week and is expected to take around one month to complete.

c2c Head of Retail Hugh Jennings said: “This project is all about giving Upminster station a facelift, for the benefit of all our passengers. We want to make sure the station is bright and welcoming in time for winter.”

Upminster is the latest c2c station to be updated, following similar work at Southend Central and Chalkwell, and an ongoing £700,000 station improvement project at Shoeburyness.
