MTR Runners Run for a Greener Future

Athletes from MTR Corporation ran from the Peak to Big Wave Bay and Tai Tam during the annual Green Power Hike to promote environmental protection and healthy living.

MTR participants, Law Chun-kin, Chau Pak-leong, Lo Leung-hong and Mo Long-ki won the championship of the 10km Corporation/ Organization Cup. They finished the race from Aberdeen Country Park to Tai Tam in 44 minutes and 51 seconds only.
Meanwhile, another team, Lee Kwok-lun, Sham Long-ping, Law Kwai-lun and Ho Chi-tung ran from Tai Tam Country Park to Big Wave Bay in the 25km Corporation/ Organization Cup, and they won the second runner-up by finishing the hike in 2 hours and 54 minutes.
70 MTR staff and their families also participated in the event as volunteers to assist in the logistics and crowd control for the activity.
“We always encourage our staff to show their care to the environment by participating in various environmental protection activities,” said Mrs Miranda Leung, General Manager – Corporate Relations of MTR Corporation, “In addition to participating with MTR runners to raise funds, our staff and their families also contributed their efforts and skills as volunteers to ensure the event was smooth.”

This is the eighth consecutive year that MTR runners joined the event to raise funds for Green Power’s environmental education activities.
