MSC Cruises has expanded into South Africa with the acquisition of Starlight Cruises. The company has been renamed as MSC Starlight Cruises and represents the cruise line’s first office in sub-Saharan Africa.

“This is an important acquisition that affirms the close relationship we’ve shared with Starlight Cruises. It also endorses our commitment to the future success of South Africa and continued growth of cruise tourism in the region,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises.

Daphne Osborne will become managing director of the venture and Allan Foggitt will remain marketing director, with Stefano Vigoriti as operations manager.
