Movenpick Hotel Berlin prepares for growing demand of e-mobility services

Manufacturers are offering more electric vehicles than ever, and with market prices falling, consumers worldwide are welcoming this rapidly growing technology. Green Globe member, the Movenpick Hotel Berlin in Germany, is preparing for this massive trend: Partnering with SCIUS Consulting GmbH a study is being created on the impact this will have to the hospitality industry.

In Germany alone, around 6,400 electric cars are on the road already. According to the Federal Ministry of Transportation, this number is expected to rise to at least a million by 2020. Situated in the bustling heart of Germany`s capital, Movenpick Hotel Berlin prepares systematically for the growing demand of E-mobility services, coming together in the next few years. The study will be published in July.

“Based on the latest technology, our guests will enjoy additional services, such as reservation apps,” said Frank Hoerl, Managing Director at the Movenpick Hotel Berlin. “Charging your own electric vehicle will become an integrated part of the hotel experience.”

The `E-mobility kit`, provided by SCIUS Consulting, will select the relevant criteria for Movenpick Hotel Berlin to develop a customised manual, to be implemented into the hotel operation.

“Being a host in Europe`s fastest growing metropolis, we are fully aware of our responsibility towards the environment. Humanity has much to gain from this emerging industry, as it offers a most sustainable solution for the future. The hotel industry in Berlin will be an important catalyst, paving the way for the breakthrough of E-mobility,” added Frank Hoerl.
