Say goodbye to the industry standard buffet pass and hotel room comp when it comes to premium player rewards. Mount Airy Casino Resort has announced a new option in player incentives with the introduction of SmartPlay, a patented gaming computer system which allows patrons to choose their own rewards.

“You will not find this in Atlantic City or Vegas,” emphasized Mount Airy president and CEO George Toth. “This exciting new feature is exclusive to Mount Airy and allows our players the ability to choose where and when they want to redeem their player rewards.”

The result, he added, is that Mount Airy customers will be afforded the most options in gaming where they can build their own offers through a resort dollar bank. Those resort dollars can then be used for hotel room reservations, newsstand purchases, golf course fees, spa treatments, concert tickets or for meals at any of Mount Airy’s four restaurants. The most popular option, however, is that patrons can transfer up to 50 percent of their weekly resort dollars to slot dollars at the SmartPlay Kiosk.

“This really is a way to revolutionize the gaming industry,” said Mount Airy special events coordinator Sharon Kopin who along with Mr. Toth holds the published patent for the new rewards technology.

“As someone who’s been involved with the gaming industry for many years, I asked myself: ‘How many clock radios can you possibly give away?’ That’s when I got the idea for SmartPlay.”

In terms of customer usage, the concept and execution of the SmartPlay system is similar to a banking debit card. Players manage points using their Mount Airy Player’s Club Card from the SmartPlay Kiosk on the gaming floor. When it’s time to redeem accumulated credits, players need only present their cards to cashiers who will debit the account electronically.

“SmartPlay offers resort-wide flexibility,” Mr. Toth reiterated. “Our players get to choose where and when they want to redeem their rewards, whether it’s on the golf course or the day spa or red’s Steakhouse. Perhaps most appealing, our players can cash SmartPlay for up to 50 percent additional slot play. “
