For enhancing communication with Thailand’s travel industry, the Tourism Authority Thailand, TAT, and TKS, organizer of ITE & MICE, worked together holding a presentation on December 21 in Bangkok, which was well attended by around 60 delegates from trade association, hotel, resort, travel agent, attraction, convention center and hospital.

Mr. Junnapong, Director of TAT Hong Kong, delivered the opening remark, which was followed by the presentation by KS Tong, Managing Director of TKS on both the outbound market of Hong Kong and developments of ITE & MICE. Further discussions were made during the Q & A session and coffee break.

“We are pleased with the good responses from the Thai travel industry, despite a very short preparation time! Their strong presence and active participation in the presentation reflect the strong interest on learning more about the Hong Kong market and how better to develop it. Also, we would like to thank TAT for the supports”, said KS Tong. In the same trip, TKS team also visited head office of TAT, and met Mr. Samsern Ngaorungsi, Executive Director East Asia Region, TAT.

Thailand is a popular international destination, and a long term exhibitor of ITE & MICE. The Thai pavilion had a very significant expansion of over 100% in 2009, and brought into the same stand exhibitors and exhibits covering both leisure and MICE. There will again be a Thai pavilion in our next travel expo, taking the same size as in 2009.
