Monte Rei Partners With Preferred Hotels

Monte Rei Golf & Country Club is pleased to announce a partnership with Preferred Hotel Group, effective from August 2011. As part of the deal, the resort will feature as one of the exceptional hotels offered by the group. Renowned in the industry for providing the ultimate collection of hotels and resorts around the world, Preferred Hotel Group’s partnership with Monte Rei will bolster their already impressive selection of properties. Opting for membership within Preferred Boutique and Preferred Golf, Monte Rei has reflected its commitment as both a property dedicated to exceptional service and quality, whilst continuing to harness its strength as a key golfing destination in Europe.

Salvador Lucena, General Manager at Monte Rei Golf & Country Club says: “As a small operation in a highly competitive market, we had to establish a strategic partnership to help us achieve the results we expect. Preferred Hotel Group has a proven track record for delivering high sales performance, as well as strong marketing tools and smart technology solutions. Also, Monte Rei and Preferred share a vision of quality and attention to detail, and the quality of the hotel members is coherent with the brand and aims at a high level – we feel that we are in good company. We are proud to be affiliated with Preferred Boutique and Preferred Golf, and we rely on them to achieve the desired sales performance.”

Famed for its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, the first of its kind in the Algarve. Monte Rei is rapidly gaining recognition around the world as a premier golf and family destination and, since its opening four years ago, has been ranked as the number one golf course in Portugal by Golf Monthly as well as the leading course in Portugal and number ten in Europe by Top100golfcourses.co.uk.

This year has seen a number of developments at the resort, with the introduction of two and three-bedroom rental villas, along with the social centre Veranda, which includes a restaurant and bar, tennis courts, pools, gymnasium and spa. The villas have proven popular with guests already, providing a hotel experience within a spacious and comfortable villa, including in-villa dining, housekeeping, luxury products from Molton Brown, and a dedicated concierge to take care of restaurant reservations, golf bookings and other requests.

Traditionally seen as a luxury golf resort, Monte Rei is also fast becoming a key destination for foodies with its selection of restaurants and gastronomic activities. Overseen by Chef Jaime Perez, a protégé of Ferrán Adrià, and formerly a leading chef in Adrià´s renowned 3-Michelin star “El Bulli” restaurant, his motto is “only the best is good enough” and this approach shines through in the resort.
