Modena Zhuankou Wuhan expands Frasers portfolio in China

Frasers has launched its fifth Modena serviced residence in China.

The new Modena Zhuankou Wuhan, situated in the rapidly emerging capital of the Hubei province, follows the launch of Modena New District Wuxi.

Frasers introduced the Modena brand in 2009 to specifically cater to a growing market niche of ‘road warriors’, who spend most of their time travelling and demand efficiency of product and services to support their lifestyle needs.

Adding to its portfolio, which currently includes five Modena-concept serviced residences – Modena Heping Tianjin, Modena Putuo Shanghai, Modena Jinjhu Suzhou, Modena New District Wuxi and Modena Zhuankou Wuhan – Frasers has plans to open four more Modena serviced residences over the next two years.

The key transportation, finance, commerce, logistics and cultural centre of Central China, Wuhan is the third largest technological and educational centre in China behind Beijing and Shanghai.

Its GDP reached more than RMB800 billion and grew at an annual rate of 11.4 percent in 2012.

Choe Peng Sum, chief executive, Frasers Hospitality, said: “Establishing a presence in China’s fastest growing province2 will enable us to further strengthen our foothold in China as demand for our serviced residences remain strong in key cities as well as high-growth second and third-tier cities.

“China will continue to be pivotal in our growth as we work towards doubling our global inventory to 30,000 serviced apartments over the next five years.”

Centrally located within the city’s commercial centre, Modena Zhuankou Wuhan is surrounded by global enterprises including giant automakers Peugeot and Citroen and world-class educational institutions Wuhan Yangtze International School and Jianghan University.

It is only three minutes from Wanda Plaza, which houses a cinema and a wide array of retail and food and beverage options, and the Wuhan Sports Centre, where many international and local sporting events are held.

Modena Zhuankou Wuhan comprises 172 thoughtfully designed apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom options, each featuring larger-than-average rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, modern workspace, stylish living area and an a complete home entertainment system.
