Minor Hotel Group brings AVANI to Thailand

Minor Hotel Group, a hotel owner with 87 properties in operation across twelve countries, has announced the first AVANI hotel in Thailand.

Currently operating as the Amari Atrium Bangkok, MHG will take over the management contract of the 568 key hotel from October 1s 2013.

AVANI Hotels & Resorts is the vibrant new upscale hotel brand which was launched by MHG in 2011 to complement the group’s five star Anantara brand.

AVANI offers relaxed comfort and contemporary style in city and resort destinations to guests who value the details that matter.

Currently with two AVANI resorts in operation, both in Sri Lanka, MHG has plans to grow the brand across Asia, India and the Indian Ocean and in the Middle East.

Two additional resorts will join the portfolio later this year, in Quy Nhon, Vietnam and in Sepang, Malaysia.

Located in New Petchburi Road, a busy commercial and retail area in the Asoke-Sukhumvit area of the Thai capital, the 23-storey property makes an ideal base for business or leisure travellers.

Centred on a 12-storey atrium lobby, the hotel offers two Executive Floors, along with Deluxe and Superior guest rooms.

Facilities at the hotel include a selection of restaurants and bars, a swimming pool and sun deck, a fitness centre, a ballroom and additional meetings and events space.

The property will undergo an extensive renovation including guest rooms and public areas prior to being rebranded as AVANI in 2014.

Dillip Rajakarier, chief executive, Minor Hotel Group, commented: “We are very excited to announce our first AVANI in Thailand and also to enter into this partnership with the GP Group.

“Taking over the management of this well established city centre hotel will be a great launch platform for our new AVANI brand here in Bangkok.”
