Megabusplus.com makes timetable improvements

Stagecoach Group today (Monday 1 November) announced it is making improvements to its budget coach-rail service megabusplus.com.

Megabusplus.com - an integrated coach and rail service providing links from the north of England to London – became the first service of its kind in the UK when it was launched in April 2009.

The service, which offers fares from just £1*, currently operates from York, Hull, Scunthorpe, Bradford, Harrogate, Halifax, Huddersfield and Castleford. Passengers travel on a comfortable coach to East Midlands Parkway Station where they then board an East Midlands Trains service to take them to London St Pancras.

With journey times from just three-and-a-half hours, megabusplus.com can provide a faster journey time than existing coach links to London and even some rail services.

From today, megabusplus.com is making the following changes to its timetable:

  * A daily service will once again operate to and from Doncaster, this time from a new stop at Frenchgate Interchange.
  * An additional service will operate each day from Harrogate, increasing the number of return services from one to two per day.
  * York is to get an additional pick-up point on the city’s Leeman Road.
  * To match services with demand, Castleford will now operate a once-daily service.

Stagecoach UK Bus Service Performance Director Robert Montgomery said: “megabusplus.com is continuing to attract more and more passengers who are looking for a bargain trip to London.

“The service offers affordable, reliable and greener travel by comfortable coach and fast train for people heading to the capital, and is the perfect transport solution for those who are looking to make their money go further.”
