Marriott International to expand in Belarus with second Minsk property

Marriott International is expanding in Belarus with plans to open a second hotel in the country.

The 220-room Marriott Minsk Hotel is expected to open in early 2015 and will operate under a franchise agreement with Vienna International Hotelmanagement.

The hotel will be the second Marriott International property in Belarus after the recently opened Renaissance Minsk Hotel.

Marriott Minsk is part of an extensive new sports and entertainment development located approximately four kilometres from Minsk city centre.

The complex will provide a wide range of leisure facilities including a swimming pool, squash courts, tennis courts, massage rooms, fitness centre, bowling alley and cinema.

The hotel itself will have two restaurants, a lobby lounge bar, a cigar bar and nightclub.

For meetings and events, there will be thirteen meeting rooms and a large ballroom which can accommodate up to 600 people.

The hotel will be fresh and contemporary in style with the brand’s Greatroom lobby concept providing a comfortable and welcoming destination for guests and locals to gather, by themselves or with friends or colleagues, to relax, socialise and work.

Guestrooms will feature neutral tones and natural materials reflecting a new design direction for the brand which focuses on creating a residential feel.

Marriott Minsk will participate in Marriott Rewards, an award-winning loyalty programme with over 45 million members worldwide.
