Marriott Bahrain celebrates Associate Appreciation Week 2013

Beginning on May 19, Marriott Executive Apartments Manama Bahrain and Residence Inn by Marriott Manama Juffair celebrated “Associate Appreciation Week 2013.” Marriott properties around the world celebrated with a week’s worth of activities, community service opportunities and events.

The week provided the opportunity to thank associates for everything they do to embody our core values and help make us the top choice among Bahrain business accommodations. Their hard work, commitment and dedication to our business and its people keep our operations running smoothly, ensure our guests coming back, and make the communities we serve a better place.

In Bahrain, the 6-day event was filled with fun activities such as games, competitions, raffles, entertainment and a party on the last day of the week. More than 200 associates from different departments participated in the annual event.

Also during this week the Marriott Executive Apartments Manama, Bahrain hosted a “Blood Donation Campaign.” The event was part of its corporate core values “Spirit to Serve Our Communities.” This was an integral part of the Associate Appreciation Week and gave associates the opportunity to serve their local community.

Working together with Bahrain Blood Bank (BBB), the blood donation campaign started from 9am to 12pm. More than 30 associates, guests and residents of the MEA Bahrain volunteered in the program.

General Manager Sam Van Campenhout said that the event was dedicated to the company’s most valuable asset; our associates. “This week, our entire company was very grateful to celebrate our associate’s hard work and dedication to serve our guests and communities.”

Human Resources Manager, Akilan Karthikeyan, said, “Appreciation week is one of the opportunities where we show our associates the Marriott philosophy of saying, if we take care of the associates, associates will take care of the guests, and the guests will come back.”

“I believe that associates satisfaction is the most important tool to retain our workforce, and we should always focus on this, especially in the present tough competing environment,” added Akilan.
