Mario Bounas takes up role at ebookers

Online travel agent ebookers.com has appointed Mario Bounas as head of offline marketing for the UK, Ireland, France and Benelux.

In the role he will be responsible for building brand awareness in the region, as well as promoting the company’s new proposition book easier, travel happier.

Having joined the company in November 2010 as head of marketing for ebookers UK, Bounas will step up to his new role immediately, taking over from Steven Rice who has been promoted to commercial director.

He will oversee ATL, customer relationship and partnership marketing, public relations, brand research and site merchandising across the UK, Ireland, France and Benelux.

Bounas brings with him extensive experience, previously holding senior marketing positions at the prestigious The Langham, London and COMO hotels and resorts.

Prior to that, he worked at The Grove and the International Airline Passengers Association.

Commenting on his appointment, Bounas said: “ebookers.com has grown from strength to strength in the online travel market in recent years and I look forward to taking the company even further.

“Over the coming months, I will be focused on communicating our promise to customers that ebookers.com enables you to book easier, travel happier and also showcasing the great savings customers can get on hotels, flights and holiday packages via the website.”
