Marbella was given the Presidential seal of approval last week and put firmly back on the glitterati map thanks to a visit from the First Lady, Michelle Obama, and her daughter Sasha. Mother and daughter stayed at the exclusive five star Hotel Villa Padierna, located just out of town, and then visited the island of Mallorca to meet with Spain’s King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.

Marbella is a playground for the rich and famous – Pixie Lott and Eva Longoria also visited last week – thanks largely to its über cool bars and nightlife, chic designer shopping and luxury yacht scene at Puerto Banus.
