Mantis launches Guru to train trade in brand offering

Once again the Mantis Group is technologically leaps and bounds ahead of the rest, with travel becoming expensive, their latest launch of an online special video based website designed specifically for training the trade on their products from the comfort of their own desks.

Mantis was last year recognised as Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel Brand by the World Travel Awards.

The site, which is now live, will eventually be host to a video of each of the properties within the entire collection of Mantis Boutique Hotels, Game Reserves and Eco Lodges.

Currently the site features: Shamwari, Jock, Sanbona and Jacis, with the other properties in the collection soon to follow.

The professionally shot videos provide for an introduction and a detailed overview of all the boutique hotels, game reserves or eco lodges within the portfolio.

Mantis Guru is targeted at the tour operator and travel agents for training purposes and after viewing each video module, the user is expected to complete a compulsory examination which doesn’t take more than a minute – this ensures that the user is concentrating and learning about the respective property – they are after all the ones responsible for ultimately selling the properties.

The participant has to achieve a minimum of 80 per cent in order to move onto the next property video module.

It is also targeted at our own Mantis staff so that they are familiar with the other properties within the Collection – for instance, the duty manager at one of our boutique hotels in Europe will now have a thorough knowledge of our Antarctica lodge having recently studied the videos on the Guru site.

It helps that all our front of line staff can speak to guests with confidence about all the hotels in our growing collection.

Lastly, all the videos are consumer friendly and they are also hosted on the individual property websites.
