Malta Properties continues finding buyers with a little help

UK based Malta property specialist www.maltabuyproperty.co.uk has welcomed the news that Ryanair has taken a further step to improving the costs and availability of flights from the UK and Ireland.

This fast growing airline has announced the launch in 2010 of flights to and from Leeds Bradford Airport. This is in addition to existing routes from Edinburgh, Bristol, Luton and Dublin.

Flights will begin on the route from Malta from March 25, 2010, flying on Thursdays and Sundays.

Ryanair also currently operates flights between Malta and Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, Pisa, Bari, Venice and Trapani in Italy, and Stockholm in Sweden.

Ray Woods from www.maltabuyproperty.co.uk said,
“The introduction of low cost flights to Malta in the last 2-3 years has been one of the major factors in improving both tourism and property sales. Low cost airlines have been quick to exploit Malta’s central position within the European mainland and also its proximity to Africa.

Although tourism is down this year because of the world situation, the property market in Malta remains resilient with bank finance readily available and domestic demand from within Malta, very healthy. Most major developments that have taken place in the last few years have had 90-95% take up.

A crackdown by the banks before the credit crunch choked off much of the small scale speculative development that took place in the days before EU membership.

Good quality developments continue to do well however. The latest of these is at Marsascala on the south of the island and off the traditional package holiday trail.

‘Ta’Monita is an off plan coastal development, with prices starting from €133,000 for a 2 bedroomed apartment with use of communal pool. The developers Tumas have a good reputation, bolstered by a number of previous high quality developments and the island’s Hilton Hotel.
