Major Events International (MEI), a provider of market entry services for sporting events worldwide, has confirmed its involvement at Rugby Expo 2014.
The 2014 event will be the third time that MEI have been a part of the sport’s largest business-to-business event and will see MEI exhibiting as well as providing support pre-event as an official media partner. MEI will again be hosting partner companies on its exhibition stand, including for the second consecutive year, Horizon Communications, who install and maintain wireless broadband into venues and stadia.
In the year before the Rugby World Cup, Rugby Expo will return to Twickenham on 22-23 October, as the two day event continues to cement its place as the world’s largest live conference, exhibition and interactive event focused on the business of club and provincial rugby covering all levels of the game.
Run in partnership and supported by Premiership Rugby, the RFU, SRU, WRU, Pro12 and Championship, the event, being run for the fourth consecutive year at Twickenham, is now regarded as the meeting place for the key decision makers of the sport.
A part of a global major events network, MEI provides market penetration and bid consultancy services to companies aspiring to be more competitive in the global major events marketplace. Its specialities include domestic and international market profile enhancement, strategy development and in-country entry support, including work for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, 2016 Olympic Games and next year’s Rugby World Cup.
Commenting on the partnership, Dennis Mills, Chief Executive of MEI said: “As a media partner for the past two years and also having previously exhibited at the event, we have witnessed Rugby Expo’s progression and growth first hand; consequently we see our extended involvement with this year’s show as a great opportunity and an event that we are excited to be a part of.”
Jonathan Wilson, Rugby Expo event director, said: “We’re delighted to have Major Events International back on board for Rugby Expo 2014; MEI provides that link and support for companies who recognise the commercial opportunities available through large-scale events and MEI’s extensive experience and awareness will certainly be of interest to many of our delegates at Rugby Expo.”
