Machinists Union reaches tentative contract with Alaska Airlines
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) today announced it reached a tentative agreement on a new contract for approximately 3,000 clerical, office and passenger service employees at Alaska Airlines.
“I’m proud that our negotiating committee brought back a deal that provides economic and job security for IAM members at Alaska Airlines.”
The five-year accord includes 12.3 percent in wage increases, improved job security provisions, strengthened merger protections, improved premium pay, enhanced home agent pay protections and holds the line on healthcare costs.
“I’d like to thank IAM members for their support and solidarity through this latest round of negotiations on Alaska Airlines,” said IAM District 142 President Tom Higginbotham. “I’m proud that our negotiating committee brought back a deal that provides economic and job security for IAM members at Alaska Airlines.”
The five-year deal runs through 2018. IAM District 142 is currently scheduling information meetings and unanimously recommends ratification of the tentative agreement.
