Luxury suites unveiled during Seven Seas Splendour keel laying

Two full-size suite models have provided a first look at the accommodation guests will enjoy when the Seven Seas Splendour debuts in 2020.

The new rooms were revealed during a keel laying at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

“Seven Seas Explorer has earned remarkable acclaim since debuting in 2016 as the most luxurious ship ever built.

“Now, her sister Seven Seas Splendour builds upon the success of that lauded ship as it strives to perfect uncompromised luxury on the seas,” said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“In our pursuit to exceed guest expectations, we are creating a work of art, from bow to stern.

“Wherever you turn on Seven Seas Splendour, you will be surrounded by elegance, comfort and hospitality.”

Montague and shipyard director, Giovanni Stecconi, commemorated the occasion by placing three coins onto the keel of the ship.

In shipbuilding tradition, the coins will remain embedded within the ship’s structure for its entire life, and will invite good fortune for all who sail aboard.

Luigi Matarazzo, Fincantieri executive vice president, new building, merchant ships business unit, said: “We are satisfied to have the opportunity to partner for the second time with a ship owner like Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“It means that we have met all the expectations of a company that has made quality and sophistication the distinguishing features of its business.

“I am sure that this vessel will represent another success for our shipyard in Ancona, which confirms its mission in the medium-sized luxury ships segment, but also for the Fincantieri Group, a leader in the cruise market.”

During the ceremony, the first two of 210 blocks that will comprise the approximately 55,000 gross ton vessel were lifted into the dry dock, officially marking the start of the ship’s assembly in the Ancona shipyard.

Seven Seas Splendour is an all-suite, all-balcony ship, offering up to 750 guests the most elegant accommodations.

Guests will enjoy distinctive public spaces as well as 375 beautifully appointed suites ranging from the 307 square-foot Veranda Suite, to the lavish 4,443 square-foot Regent Suite.

With a private in-suite spa with steam room, a custom heated spa on a private balcony, and ceramic heated lounge beds, the Regent Suite also comes with a butler and car and driver awaiting excursions in every port.
