Luxury sector drives visitor numbers in Dubai Tower 2 at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai opened earlier this year in Dubai

The new tourism season is an exciting one with a number of world class and internationally renowned hotel brands coming up in Dubai.

During 2014 the emirate experienced a 10.6 per cent visitor increase from the 11 million guests in 2013.

By building more hotels that suit all kind of tourists, Dubai is on track to meet their target of 20 million visitors by the year 2020.

Over the first quarter of 2014, Dubai welcomed a number of new establishments onto its hotel scene.

Damac Maison on Dubai Mall Street is located in the heart of Downtown Dubai, close to The Dubai Mall, Souk Al Bahar and the Burj Khalifa.

Waldorf Astoria Dubai, The Palm Jumeirah is a 319-room hotel and is the brand’s first in the emirate, on the East Crescent of the Palm Jumeirah.

Dubai Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf is close to Dubai’s royal residence, Zabeel Palace.

The Marriott Al Jaddaf is comprised of a hotel and upscale serviced apartments, the former offering 353 rooms and suites and the latter 128 fully furnished one, two and three-bedroom apartments for extended stays.

Noon Art Boutique Hotel Apartments is the UAE’s first art-inspired hotel and residences and is located in Al Barsha.

The property boasts a dedicated art gallery displaying Middle Eastern art and aims to support local artists by displaying their creative pieces throughout the premises.

JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai – Tower 2 is the second tower of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai and brings the total room count to more than 1,600.

Located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Business Bay, the property is officially the tallest hotel in the world.

During May, summer in Dubai kicked off with the opening of Sofitel Dubai Downtown, which has 350 rooms featuring views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai’s coastline.

Facilities include So Spa and So Fit, which features a full range of fitness equipment, treatment rooms, two hammams, a scrub and deep relaxation room, dry sauna and steam room.

DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai - Jumeirah Beach, opened their doors in June. DoubleTree gives visitors the luxury of choice, by having 110 one, two and three-bedroom suites, some with a fully equipped kitchen.

This month, The Four Seasons will be opening its debut property in the emirate, at Jumeirah Beach.

The hotel boasts 237 guest rooms and suites, each with a balcony and panoramic views of the sea or city skyline.

The Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach features a 270-metre-long natural beachfront; the resort also has a water sports centre, along with two outdoor, free-form swimming pools and an indoor pool in the spa and fitness complex.

Five restaurants and lounges managed by Four Seasons, and an additional five independent, on-site venues complete the offering.

Visitors will be able to book their stays at the Four Seasons Dubai as of this week.

During 2015 tourists can look forward to the opening of InterContinental Dubai Marina and Palazzo Versace Dubai, in the first quarter of the year.

Over the second quarter, Dubai will welcome R Hotels Property and St Regis Dubai. The third and fourth quarter of 2015 will mark the openings of the W Hotel and The Westin Dubai.
