Lightfoot Travel prepares to launch in UK

Luxury tour operator Lightfoot Travel is set to launch in the UK with the opening of its London office this month.

The highly specialist operator, which was founded in 2009 in Singapore, designs original holidays for an international clientele to countries spanning the seven continents.

The brainchild of Brits Simon Cameron and Nico Heath, Lightfoot Travel originated from a desire to offer the high-end, tailor-made travel services available in the UK, to Asia’s rapidly expanding, affluent market.

Armed with the confidence that there was a gap in the market and with an in-depth knowledge of travel across the continent, the company was founded – at the height of the financial crisis.

This dynamic pair did not look back, they were joined in 2011 by Lucy Jackson Walsh who opened the Hong Kong office and in 2013 they launched their office in Dubai.

Almost ten years on and Lightfoot Travel is now the leading tailor-made travel company in Asia and a renowned, international travel brand with clients across the globe.

Along with their knowledge of Asia and the Asian market, the trio puts its success down to a genuine thirst for travel and the experiences it brings.

Throughout their lives they have lived and worked across Asia, the GCC, Africa, Latin America and the Bahamas and everywhere in between.

They are also supported by a highly experienced, cosmopolitan team of Lightfoot travel specialists.

Each individually selected for their knowledge, expertise, passion and innate understanding of the high-end international traveller.

Heading up the new office is UK sales manager, Verity Smith.

Smith has more than 15 years of experience within the UK luxury travel market, having worked previously for a leading UK tour operator, specialising most recently in creating and leading private tours to Europe.

Jackson Walsh commented: “We believe the UK has great potential and the solid growth of our business from this market – and internationally - in recent years is a clear indication of that.

“We are also adamant that an on-the-ground presence in the UK is essential for our globe-trotting, international clientele, in order to deliver the kind of experiences and services that we offer, and which have earned Lightfoot Travel the success it has today.”
