lastminute.com signs exclusive deal with Lowcost Travel

lastminute.com has signed an exclusive white label deal with Lowcost Travel Group which will result in the termination of contracts with their existing suppliers.

The new lastminute.com offering is expected to give customers a greater holiday choice –ranging from beach, ski and longhaul operators - as well as an improved online experience.

According to reports, those suppliers affected by the deal have been advised of the changes, which will take effect by the end of the year.

The news comes shortly after Lowcost Travel’s signed a three year deal with easyjet, which will see the ‘low cost travel experts’ providing hotel content to the easyJet holidays website which launched earlier this year.

In a statement, lastminute.com said: “Using the Lowcost Travel Group’s expertise and leading edge technology, this will result in lastminute.com customers getting access to a greater selection of holidays and improved on-line shopping experience, all still under the lastminute.com brand.”

In response to the news, lastminute.com’s founder, Brent Hoberman posted a brief, but poignant comment on Twitter: “How does LM differentiate then?”
