Last Minute Travel, a leader in last minute travel deals on hotels, flights, cruises, car rentals, activities and other travel products, today announced that it has added car rental search and bookings to its free iPhone mobile application – enabling its users to choose from 18 car rental brands. For the first time, consumer travelers can search by city or by airport and can view the locations of the available cars on a map view – while filtering by vehicle type, transmission, and rental company.

“This app now offers consumers the most comprehensive car rental selection available from a mobile device,” said Omer Chehmer, Head of Mobile Communications for Last Minute Travel. “With its massive inventory, filter options, and easy-to-use map functionality, travelers can find a car more easily and affordably – regardless of their location.”

Using the Last Minute Travel Deals app, travelers can access flights from more than 175 carriers around the world, more than 100,000 hotels in over 150 countries, nearly 20,000 vacation homes, approximately 10,000 activities and transfers, and 25,000 car rental pick-up locations worldwide.

The new Deals App has added even more features – making it easier than ever for travelers to search and book travel products at agent-level prices. Travelers that find it cumbersome to type in long credit card numbers will appreciate the recently designed card imaging feature that auto-populates card information for convenient booking.

“Over 60 percent of hotel reservations booked through the app are last minute – same-day or next day – bookings. We know travelers are in a rush, so why not make life easier for them and allow them to scan their cards?” Chehmer said.

Vacation packages and cruises will also be added to the LMT Deals app inventory by the end of the year – making it the first mobile application to allow consumers to book and pay for cruises or flexible travel packages.
