Following a successful Premier League Season Tottenham Hotspur FC is travelling to the US this week to take on LA Galaxy in the first match of their US pre-season tour. On 24 July 2012 the likes of David Beckham and former Spurs striker Robbie Keane will line up against the Spurs side, which includes the US national goal keeper Brad Friedal, in what is set to be one of the biggest sporting events of the summer.

This is the fourth consecutive season in which LA Galaxy is hosting a major international friendly at their home ground - The Home Depot Center. Located in Carson on the campus of California State University, the Home Depot Centre with it’s state-of-the art facilities for tennis, athletics, cycling, lacrosse, rugby, volleyball, baseball, softball, basketball and other sports, is designated as an ‘Official U.S. Olympic Training Site’ and considered as the nation’s most complete training facility for Olympic, amateur and professional athletes.

Dubbed as the sports and entertainment capital of the world, thousands of visitors head to Los Angeles each year to enjoy such events. In addition to LA Galaxy, Los Angeles is home to numerous other big name sports teams such as NBA basketball team the LA Lakers, Major League Baseball team the LA Dodgers and the Los Angeles Kings professional ice hockey team.

Los Angeles’ sunny climate also plays it part in encouraging a host of outdoor sporting occasions of a different ilk all year round.
