Kuoni unveils new accommodation options for Euro 2016

As UEFA adds new team Base Camps for the Euro 2016 final tournament, the official UEFA Euro 2016 Accommodation Agency, operated by the Kuoni Group, has found nearby accommodation to suit the needs of participating teams.

The accommodation – along with details of training grounds – will be added to the dedicated website, launched by UEFA and the Kuoni Group back in September 2014.

Accommodation is now available for booking by participating national associations at the Centre de Formation of AS Saint-Etienne, the Centre National de Rugby in Marcoussis – home to the nation’s rugby teams – and Saint-Martin-de-Ré/Sainte-Marie-de-Ré on the relaxing island of Ile-de-Ré, which offers the benefits of its thalassotherapy centre.

The website capitalises on France’s position as the world’s number one tourist destination and its network of hotels catering for all budgets and tastes.

The official catalogue now offers 68 potential team base camps, a combination of hotels and training grounds selected from stadiums and training centres home to the country’s professional and amateur clubs.

Peter Meier, chief executive of the Kuoni Group: “Just like UEFA’s passion for football, the Kuoni Group’s passion for travel is unsurpassed.

“Thanks to our local knowledge and longstanding relationships with providers, we have sought out accommodation in quiet, pleasant areas that are easy to secure and offer ideal conditions to help teams play at their best.

“All will meet the needs and expectations of each of UEFA’s 54 member associations.”

The site maps training grounds and accommodation in relation to the ten destinations where matches are taking place: Bordeaux, Lens-Agglo, Lille-Métropole, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse.

Users can narrow their search based on ground and hotel facilities, as well as star-rating and style of hotel, and can also find practical data on local climate and distances between match locations.

National football federations using the site can also log in to a dedicated area to see additional team specific information and to print out key data.
Kuoni has a wealth of international experience in sports travel and is a practised provider of travel-related services.

It was the official accommodation agency for UEFA Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.

The company’s sound knowledge of the essential services needed by a UEFA European Football Championship, combined with its local destination expertise has made it a regular partner to UEFA and over 30 leading European football clubs and their official travel agents.
